ABOUT VAL
Thanks so much for visiting my page!
I’m Val Martinez—a New York City native who’s proudly called Orlando home since childhood. I grew up in Oviedo, FL, where I discovered the creative streak and curiosity that continue to define me today. Outside of work, I’m happiest spending time with family, traveling, watching FSU football, exploring new music, and saying yes to anything that brings a little adventure or friendly competition into my life. In 2025, I married my incredible husband, Domingo, who constantly inspires and supports everything I do.
My creative roots run deep in Orlando. I started out designing and detailing motorcycles in grade school, fell in love with writing and editing in high school, and dove into photography and layout design as my yearbook’s sports editor. That early blend of art, technology, and storytelling shaped the foundation for my entire career.
For 17 years, I taught at Howard Academy of Arts, where I had the privilege of empowering students through reading, visual design, photography, videography, and digital arts. I spent my final eight years building and teaching advanced digital art and graphic design programs, partnering with Career & Technical Education to help over 300 students earn Adobe Illustrator industry certifications. I’m also a long-standing Certiport authorized proctor, supporting learners as they take significant steps in their creative and professional journeys.
In 2022–2023, I shifted into corporate design and learning as an independent contractor with ATR International, supporting NBC/Comcast. I created instructional design solutions, digital adoption tools, graphics, demos, and sizzle videos to help teams learn faster and engage more effectively.
For the past four years, I’ve worked with Comcast Business & Xfinity Learning Engagement—initially as a contractor and now as a Portfolio Product Manager. In this role, I manage end-to-end learning product strategy, partner with cross-functional teams to build scalable learning experiences, and support digital transformation across a multi‑billion‑dollar enterprise. My work blends everything I love: design, education, technology, problem‑solving, and creating learner-centered solutions that work in the real world.
Today, I use the full range of my experience—from the classroom to corporate—to help individuals and organizations access the same level of thoughtful, high‑quality design that the biggest companies rely on…with clear communication.
